Last year, I applied for a graduate assistant job that would not only provide great sports performance coaching experience, but enable me to pursue a free masters degree. Considering the high stakes, I reached out to Jackie for resume help!
Jackie is brilliant in that she understands being a good advisor is not simply editing work history to create a polished final product. Being a good advisor involves listening and orchestrating information in teachable way for the client. She works with the grain to help the client best represent themselves. This level of intentionality requires a great breadth of occupational knowledge, but also high emotional intelligence.
Jackie walked me through her edits to my resume and explained her reasoning behind the alterations. She took questions and engaged in discussion. Jackie’s genuine desire to help others succeed is evident. I’m proud to say that in the end, with some definite credit to her expertise, I got the job!
